Private & Duo Pilates Classes

Did you know that Joe Pilates designed special machines and equipment for his method?

Although today there are countless manufacturers, the classical machines and tools still serve the same purpose. The Reformer, the Spine Corrector, the Chair, the Trapeze Table, and the Ladder Barrel create a new, unusual environment for the nervous system. They provide feedback, resistance, and safe – often guided – movement patterns for the body. Thanks to this unfamiliar setting, our bodies can effectively learn new movement patterns and correct faulty ones.

In my private Pilates sessions, we have the opportunity to use any of these machines and tools. The real strength of one-on-one training lies in the fact that the entire class is focused solely on you. With your specific issues and goals in mind, we can build and progress from session to session. Of course, some days you may feel better or worse, more energetic, tired, or stressed – and I naturally adapt to your current state of mind as well.

Private Pilates also provides an excellent opportunity for post-rehabilitation. After an injury or surgery, it is important to use the most suitable exercises for the best possible outcome and full recovery. The right machines and equipment are a great help here. Typically, the first step after injury or surgery is rehabilitation with a physiotherapist. Once you have regained the function of the injured area (strength, range of motion), the next step is reintegration – and Pilates on the machines is an incredible aid in this process.

If you are expecting a baby or would like to return to exercise after childbirth, I also recommend private sessions.

To design the most suitable training program, the first private Pilates session always begins with an assessment (lifestyle, individual needs, posture analysis, test exercises). The first few classes also give you a chance to get a taste of what I do, how I work, and what I believe to be a truly wonderful movement system.

I often say: one session is not a session. This applies to almost everything – whether it’s therapy, massage, acupuncture, learning to dance or play a sport, or mastering a new language. To start with, I suggest committing to at least 3–4 Pilates sessions so you can really decide if it’s right for you. Personally, I believe Pilates is for everyone – though I don’t intend to convince anyone against their will :-)

During your classes, you’ll notice that it’s not just about me telling you what to do and how to do it. I want you to truly connect with your body and learn to pay attention to its feedback. If you’re straining so hard that you stop breathing, that’s a clear sign something isn’t right. Since many of us are used to pushing through daily life with clenched teeth and constant overwork, it’s not always easy to perform movements without tension. It may sound strange, but I see it every day – slowing down and relaxing is often the hardest part. That’s why one of my main goals in class is to help you slow down, tune into yourself, and allow your muscles to work just as much as needed – no more, no less.

The Duo (or Partner) Pilates session is a fantastic and cost-effective alternative to private classes. You can join someone who is also looking for a partner, or sign up together with a friend, partner, colleague, or even as a mother-daughter pair.
