Floating therapy - AquaHealing - Aquakontakt Movement Meditation
Relaxation in gentle warm water - Floating in the womb
In my everyday connections and during my Pilates sessions, I experience that we are conditioned to constantly tense up. The daily tasks and difficulties keep us in constant stress, which causes our tissues to contract and tense up, we feel anxious and often cannot sleep properly.
Imagine stress as if you were wearing a few sizes too small diving suit, a corset, or very tight jeans all day long. Now imagine what it would be like to run around Margaret island (a popular running spot in Budapest), play with your child, or enjoy a dance class in such clothing... If you can hardly breathe, none of this will go well, you won't be effective, you certainly won't have fun and sooner or later you'll strain yourself, get injured, or get sick.
Now imagine how liberating it would be to get out of that tight outfit. Your chest and abdominal wall can expand from relief, finally you can breathe, you can take up the space you actually need, and you can relax. So life becomes more pleasant, right? In addition to my somatic Pilates classes, I can now help you with stress management and relaxation in the water through aquatic movement meditation.
This Floating practice I offer is a guided, water-based movement meditation that I learned from Benedek Aldea through his Aquakontakt® method. This approach intuitively blends elements and principles of Shiatsu and Watsu. Its healing effect stems primarily from entering a state of consciousness where thoughts are stilled, and through free-flowing, weightless movements that liberate the body. It is a form of dynamic meditation, offering a gateway to the parasympathetic nervous system and to deeper dimensions beyond verbalization. In this state of floating, the pressures of the outside world dissolve—you can step out of the grip of your mind and truly rest at last.
Floating in the gentle warm water, the boundary between body and water disappears. In weightlessness, you can experience unity and peace. The body and soul relax, rest in the soft embrace of the water. Stress and muscle tension loosen, the balance of the connective tissue structure improves. As you immerse yourself in the physical - bodily - somatic experience through felt sense, you finally arrive in your body and a clear consciousness free from stress and worries appears. As you flow, you can experience who you truly are in the space between two thoughts—in silence, in peace.
Simply put, you can enter a meditative state, even if you have never meditated before or think "I can't meditate." You arrive in the "here and now," in the moment. You don't dwell on the past, you don't worry about the future. You just are.
Water relaxation helps deepen the connection between body and mind, thereby developing your body awareness, harmonizing your movement. The quality of your touch also changes. Your intuition and rational thinking synchronize.
This deep experience and journey lead to your true self and opens the door to your inner world, that you last experienced in the womb. Human life comes from water, we develop in amniotic fluid, and our body is 70% water. Through aquatic movement meditation, you can reconnect with your natural environment and your liquid essence.
Between you and me, everything is born in the embrace of water in the present moment. Maybe I just hold you in the water and we breathe together, maybe I move you and maybe you want to submerge with a nose clip. Maybe your body asks for slower movements, but it's also possible that you prefer more dynamic, even contact dance-like submersions. There is no right or wrong. Everything is as it should be in the moment. Every time something different may appear as the experience takes you deeper into your inner world.
Floating in weightlessness is a multidimensional movement that has both immediate and long-term calming and healing effects. It can guide you into a state where muscular tension, emotional blockages, and stored traumas begin to release, and your energies find balance. During the Movement Meditation, your body’s self-healing processes may activate on a cellular level. By the end of the session, you will feel lighter, freer, and more connected to your true self.
Useful information:
A gentle warm-water session lasting approximately 50–60 minutes.
The session begins with a brief conversation explaining what will happen in the water and for you to share your condition for that day. Afterward, there will be about 5–10 minutes for sharing and discussing your experiences, if you wish.
Session price: 18,000 HUF (The session fee does not include your pool entry. At Dagály Bath, tickets range from 3,200–4,700 HUF (as of October 2024)).
In case of strong wind or heavy rain, we will look for an alternative indoor pool. If this is not possible, the session will be rescheduled.
You do not need to know how to swim to participate. Your face can be above water throughout the session, and there is also the possibility to flow with your face in the water, which we will discuss before the session. I mainly lead the movement meditation sessions in the thermal pools of Dagály Bath. Here, you can choose between the 34 and 36 Celsius degrees thermal pools, whichever you feel more comfortable in (your preference may also depend on the season). In Dagály, there is plenty of space for free movement and flow, so you can deepen in your inner processes in a safe energy field.
Currently, I can see you on Monday and Tuesday mornings by appointment, and occasionally on Saturday mornings.

This shows clearly the principle of softness overcoming hardness."
